聚 日式鍋物
Giguo (聚) is the hot pot brand of the Wowprime (王品) group. It started in 2004 as a Hokkaido kombu hot pot restaurant and now has around 35 locations, usually in malls and department stores. Each person gets their own pot. The mascot is a lucky bear (招財熊), which shows up in some broths as a frozen bear-shaped flavour cube that you drop in to melt.
Ordering is by QR code on your phone, and staff will bring an English menu. You order a meat or seafood set, then choose a broth: kombu is free, tomato is NT$29, and the richer broths like spicy Sichuan, sukiyaki and spicy miso oyster cost NT$49–99 extra. The set includes the self-serve bar: vegetables, rice (including unlimited sukiyaki beef rice), soft drinks, coffee, tea, ice cream and a dessert bar. A pork and beef set was NT$458 when we visited, and a vegetable-only meal has a NT$348 minimum.
There's a 100-minute time limit and a 10% service charge. A button on the table calls staff for a broth refill or anything else, which helps if you don't speak Chinese.
