Narikura (成蔵), the Tokyo tonkatsu restaurant founded in Takadanobaba in 2010 and a Michelin Bib Gourmand since 2017, opened in Taipei on 6 October. The NT$980 set serves five cuts in sequence (tenderloin, loin, "glasses meat," Matsusaka pork and shoulder core) with cabbage, rice and curry, and the "glasses meat" cut is served only in Taiwan. From 9 October, ten same-day walk-in places are available for the 11:00 service only; registration is on site from 10:00, limited to two seats per person, with a credit card required to hold the place and at least two people present for a group.

A diner posted on Threads that a server pouring red wine splashed wine on her crocodile handbag at USHIGORO S. TAIWAN, the Dazhi yakiniku restaurant, in May. The group says she raised the stain only after the bill was settled, that staff did not witness it, and that security footage showed no server entering the private room. It says it offered to cover cleaning and shipping, that she sought NT$930,000 or an equivalent dining credit, and that it cannot accept that figure and has instructed lawyers. The diner had brought two bottles of her own wine, at a corkage fee of NT$2,200 per bottle.

The 2026 Taipei International Beef Noodle Festival, held at Taipei Expo Park, announced results on 11 October. In the braised category, gold went to A-Niu Beef Noodles (阿牛牛肉麵) and San Shi Chu (叁食初). In the clear-broth category, gold went to Nangang Hui Guan Chinese Restaurant (南港燴館中餐廳) and Kao (犒). Silver in braised went to Xian Ba Eel Noodles, Home Garden Restaurant's Ever Rich flagship branch and Wo Niu Noodle House; silver in clear broth went to Du Kang Food Research, Chun Xin Noodles and Xiaoye Beef Noodle King.

Napoli (拿坡里) has two Korean-flavour pizzas, a citrus spicy chicken pizza and a fish cake party pizza, available as buy-large-get-large at NT$490 until 4 November, and its citrus cheese or Korean glazed wings and drumsticks are NT$149 instead of NT$169. Until 15 October, a small pizza plus twelve herb-grilled chicken wings is NT$199 instead of NT$560, with a large pizza upgrade for NT$100 more, for takeaway or eating in. Neither offer applies at the Xihu branch, and no app is needed.

Aloft Taipei Zhongshan (台北中山雅樂軒酒店) serves its 17th-floor breakfast buffet of fresh juice, hot dishes, salads, coffee, congee and soups for NT$399 per adult if you enter between 9:30 and 10:30 any day, instead of NT$550 plus 10 percent, with dining until 11:00. Until 31 December, a pair where at least one person is 55 or older and shows photo identification pays NT$660 for two, or NT$330 each.
