Mala Hot Pot (馬辣) is an all-you-can-eat hot pot group that opened in 2006 and became a regular stop for visitors, helped by shops close to MRT stations and tourist areas. It runs two hot pot brands, both listed here: the original 馬辣頂級麻辣鴛鴦火鍋 (Mala Hot Pot) and 新馬辣經典麻辣鍋 (New Mala Hot Pot), an upgraded version launched in 2016 with a forest-themed interior and better meat and seafood.
Both work the same way. Pick two soup bases for a split pot, then choose a meat tier: Angus beef, premium wagyu or top-grade wagyu. Prices start around NT$698 at weekday lunch and go up to about NT$1,000 for the top tier on weekends, plus a 10% service charge. Everything else is unlimited, including Häagen-Dazs and Mövenpick ice cream and free-flow alcohol. Meat is ordered by QR code.
There's a two-hour limit, and the shops stay open late (the Gongguan branch until 2 AM). An English menu is available. The Ximen branch has been reported as cash only, so bring enough.
