Michelin Bib Gourmand gua bao shop near Gongguan Night Market and National Taiwan University. The family has been making these steamed pork buns for over 30 years. Each gua bao gets braised pork belly — fatty, lean, or half-and-half — with pickled mustard greens, cilantro, and crushed peanut sugar in a soft white bun. The pork braises for two hours in soy sauce, garlic, shallots, sugar, and rice wine. The sweet corn soup is another staple. Gua bao costs 50 TWD, corn soup 60 TWD. Open 11 a.m. to midnight Tuesday through Sunday, closed Monday. Cash only.
