Sushi Express
Sushi Express (爭鮮) is Taiwan's big conveyor-belt sushi chain, founded in 1996 by Chen Chin-chou and now at more than 300 stores around the country. It made its name with a flat NT$30 per plate. Salmon nigiri moved up to NT$40 in 2022, but the colour-coded plates still start at NT$30.
The chain runs several formats, and our listings include most of them:
- Sushi Express (爭鮮迴轉壽司): the classic conveyor belt, and the cheapest way to sit down for sushi.
- Sushi Express PLUS: the conveyor plus tablet ordering, with grilled and fried dishes, ramen and desserts delivered to your seat on a "shinkansen" track.
- MAGiC TOUCH (点爭鮮): no conveyor at all. Everything is ordered from a tablet, made to order and sent down the track, with a wider menu than the other formats.
- Sushi Express gogo: takeaway counters in MRT and train stations selling boxed sushi sets.
